Cline Library and Special Collections and Archives is excited to announce their 2018-2019 exhibit Splendor and Spectacle: The 100 Year Journey of the Grand Canyon National Park. The exhibit captures the beauty and the grandeur of the Grand Canyon National Park’s centennial. Splendor and Spectacle opened on Monday, October 15, 2018 to the public and will be installed through September 2019. The exhibit celebrates the human and natural activity in the Grand Canyon since becoming a national park on February 26, 1919. Splendor and Spectacle captures multiple perspectives on the Grand Canyon, including scientific study and discovery, exploration, river running, mining, and tourism. The exhibit was developed by NAU Honors College student and the Elizabeth M. and P.T. Reilly Intern, Hana Lipke, under the guidance of Special Collections and Archives. Visitors to the exhibit will be treated to stunning historic photographs of the Grand Canyon, stories of determination and adaptability, and two historic river running boats!
