Jacks Big Idea [Interdisciplinary Design Experience Accelerator]
This special event engages students from all majors to solve high-impact, global challenges in an intensive, 48-hour challenge format. It is open to all NAU students, undergraduates and graduates. The event is part of a global effort involving over 40 universities from across the world. There will be 3 winning teams (First: $1,500, Second: $1,000, Third: $500) at NAU and the first place team will be entered into the international competition with a fully funded trip to present.
How does it work? Teams will form and select challenges from a variety of prompts provided during our kick-off mixer at 4pm on Friday, February 14 in Boundaryless, followed by team forming and initial ideation sessions. The teams will come back together on Saturday, February 15th at 8 AM in Cline Library’s Learning Studio and MakerLab. The 48-hour period, Saturday through Sunday, is non-stop, sleep optional and will be in the Cline Library. All meals (Friday evening through Sunday lunch) plus snacks, coffee, and energy drinks will be provided.
