Cline librarians can help you at any stage of your literature search, including:
- identifying the most appropriate databases to search
- selecting the most effective search terms
- constructing search strategies tailored to each database
- documenting your search strategies (if required for publication or grant applications)
- exporting, storing, de-duping, and organizing citations
- keeping current with new research by setting up alerts

- evaluating your data needs
- learning about best practices for naming, structuring, organizing, describing, and storing your data
- writing a data management plan; templates are available in the Data Management Planning Tool (DMPTool)
- identifying suitable repositories for data storage and sharing
- locating open-access data sets for your research
- locating tools for data analysis

Cline librarians can help you at any stage of the data life cycle, including:
- selecting a citation manager (Mendely, Zotero, etc.)
- learning to use advanced program features such as:
- automatically downloading citations from databases and websites
- organizing citations into custom folders
- attaching PDFs of publications or other files and notes to citations
- automatically inserting and formatting citations into manuscripts and grant applications

Cline librarians can help you set up alerts in most databases (including Google Scholar) so that you can keep track of new publications in your field of research. You may also be able to set up alerts to track certain authors, works that cite another work, or works that cite a specific author.
