Graduate Academic Advisement Reports (Graduate AARs)
An Exciting Endeavor
NAU’s Office of Graduate & Professional Studies (OGPS) has begun a multi-year project to replace the use of Programs of Study (POS) with automated Graduate Academic Advisement Reports (Graduate AARs). For students graduating in Fall 2024 and beyond for first-wave programs only, the Graduate AAR will be used as the official record for graduation, in place of the POS. Other programs will follow suit in later semesters, with more details to come.
Benefits of the Graduate AAR
- Ensures students and advisors have a shared understanding of degree requirements and progress towards graduation.
- Provides automatic tracking, allowing instantaneous access to up-to-date information.
- Expedites awarding of degrees by up to 4-6 weeks.
Who will be Affected?
- Students graduating in Spring and Summer 2024 will not be affected by the Graduate AAR. Please ignore your Graduate AAR and continue utilizing your POS.
- Students graduating in Fall 2024 from a program not included in the first-wave programs will not be affected by the Graduate AAR. Please ignore your Graduate AAR and continue utilizing your POS.
- Students graduating in Fall 2024 and beyond from a first-wave program will be affected by the Graduate AAR. Continue utilizing your POS, as it will still be required to access the graduation application. However, please review your Graduate AAR periodically through the rest of your program to ensure all requirements on your Graduate AAR are on track to be fully satisfied by the end of your graduation term.
