Message from the Vice Provost of the NAU Office of Graduate and Professional Studies

To our outstanding graduate students

We are delighted to welcome you to the Graduate College at Northern Arizona University!  We proudly support a broad range of graduate degree and certificate programs that will provide you with the advanced preparation and skills necessary to succeed in a dynamic, global environment. Graduate education at NAU is diverse and robust; over 1,400 students pursue degrees on the Flagstaff campus, and almost 2,500 study in programs at other locations in Arizona or take advantage of our suite of online offerings.

Our outstanding faculty and staff provide students with exceptional opportunities for high-quality academic experiences and engagement in collaborative and focused scholarship. If you are considering NAU for graduate study, check out our wide range of programmatic offerings, several of which cross traditional disciplinary boundaries.  Numerous opportunities exist for internships and international experiences, and interactive mentorship by NAU faculty is second to none. Whether your interests lie in the performing arts or in natural sciences, in sustainability or in political science, or in numerous other exciting fields, when you are ready to take your education to the next level, we are ready for you!

The Graduate College is here to support you, your faculty mentors, and your academic units, from the time you apply until the time you walk across the stage at commencement. Please explore our website to read more about our mission and goals for graduate education at NAU, check out some of the honors and recognition our programs have earned, and learn from our own students what they think sets NAU graduate education apart from the rest.  When visiting Flagstaff, please drop by our office in the historic Ashurst building on north campus. There are friendly faces ready to welcome you and provide additional information.  And remember – We are Lumberjacks!
