Roommate success guide

Enhance your roommate experience

Developing a positive roommate relationship can be one of the most rewarding, fun and memorable aspects of your college experience. While you might be anxious about living with a roommate due to “horror stories” in pop culture, the truth is successful roommate relationships are built upon good communication, mutual respect, and common expectations. NAU students experience a high roommate satisfaction rate, and those who communicate regularly and get to know each other are the most satisfied.

To best prepare for living with your roommate(s), review the following resources and tips for each stage of the roommate relationship. Remember that living together is a process and opportunity for each of you to learn and grow by challenging yourself and exploring new ideas.
