TLDR:There are a lot of ways to get connected on campus. Try getting connected with a student leader or visit your colleges clubs and organizations to learn more.
Being a student at NAU can be difficult. Whether you are wanting academic support, residential support, or just feeling included at NAU, our Housing & Residence Life staff are here to support you in any way we can. Through events happening in our hall to conversations happening one on one, we want to make sure you feel successful in your time here. So who is available?
Our Residential College Ambassadors (RCAs) are putting on workshops designed to help you navigate academic and career goals while connecting you to your residential college and peers within your classes. RCAs work closely with staff and faculty to make sure you have the resources you need to succeed at NAU.
Our Desk Assistants (DAs) work our front desks each day to serve as a guide to help you navigate the college experience through answering questions, referring you to the resources on and off campus, and support your housing needs.
Our Resident Assistants (RAs) will be putting on events from socials to personal development to campus connection events and skillsets needed to be successful.
Our Inclusion & Diversity (ID) Scholar will also have availability throughout the week for you to talk about ways for you and your fellow residents to be included and supported. Through a variety of events, conversations, and reflection, our ID Scholar provide opportunities to build intercultural competence, engage in difference, and create spaces for dialogue.
Our Residence Hall Directors (RHDs) will also be available to support you. The RHDs oversee the day to day life in each of our residential communities across campus. From staff supervision to community council events to personal wellness and checking in, we strive to create an environment that feels like a home and a place of belonging. Ask your front desk to get connected and meet your RHDs, they’d love if you come say hi!
For signatures events, organizations, and clubs outside of our Housing & Residence Life, here are a few key links to get connected and involved.
Not only do events, clubs, and organizations help you to get connected, check out how extracurricular activities give you the leg up to succeed!
