Residence hall student positions
Desk Manager (DM) – Closed Accordion Closed
Desk Managers provide oversight for front desk operations and provide supervision to Desk Assistants and Summer Housing Assistants while working closely with the Residence Hall Director of the building. Federal Work-Study Eligible students are encouraged to apply.

Desk Assistant (DAs) – Closed Accordion Closed

Desk Assistants (DAs) are hired by each residence hall specifically to manage the front desk. DAs will work evenings and weekends at various Residence Halls.
A DA will provide excellent customer service by answering telephones, questions, maintaining hall supplies, checking out vacuums, packages, and other resources provided by the front desk. DAs can be either Federal Work Study or Student Wage.
Both types of DA wages are balanced at each front desk and this balance determines the number of hours available for each type of DA to work in a week. Hiring and supervision of DA is managed directly by a Desk Manager. Federal Work-Study Eligible students are encouraged to apply.

Community Development Assistant (CDA) – Open Accordion Closed
Community Development Assistants work in the Community Development Center (CDC) the supply and craft resource space for student leaders within the residence halls. Community Development Assistants help to maintain supplies, staff the desk and help provide resources to students. Email Jamie Lloyd at Jamie.Lloyd@nau.edu with questions about the position. Resident Assistants (RA) facilitate a safe and open community for residents living on campus and ensures a great residence hall experience.
Residential College Ambassador (RCA) – Open Accordion Closed
A Residential College Ambassador (RCA) is a student leader who works with first-year students in their Residential College to provide academic support, academic events, and connect students with their academic college and NAU as a whole. Residence Life Support Services (RLSS) – Open Accordion Closed
Residence Life Support Services (RLSS) student workers help keep our residential facilities cleaned and well-stocked by serving on at least one of the four crews listed below. Applicants will be informed about which crews are hiring and will indicate preferred crew(s) in their application. RLSS student employees must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours a week in shifts of 3 hours or more. Standard hours of operation are Monday – Friday 8AM- 5PM. Positions can be for the academic year, summer, or have the potential to be year-round. Discounted summer housing may be available for those who qualify. The cleaning crew is responsible for cleaning warehouse inventory and student and staff rooms. If on this crew, you would use industrial cleaners to scrub bathrooms, mop floors, and clean refrigerators, stoves, and microwaves.
The extraction crew is responsible for carpet care in student and staff rooms. If on this crew, you would be responsible for transporting an industrial extraction machine to and from the room, moving and returning any needed furniture, adding the appropriate chemicals to the machines and running the extraction machine until the stains or smells have been resolved.
The Linen crew prepares and delivers towels, washcloths, sheets, and pillowcases to student and visitors such as summer conference guests. If on this crew, you would use on-campus industrial laundry rooms to wash, dry, and fold linens prior to delivering them to residence halls and other campus buildings as needed.
The Moving crew is responsible for the furniture in residence hall rooms and public spaces. If on this crew, you would replace broken furniture and refrigerators, move furniture into and out of student rooms, and transport furniture within the warehouse and across campus. The moving crew is responsible for maintaining and cleaning work vehicles, repairing vacuum cleaners, and other tasks as assigned.

Central office staff
Central office hours are 8AM – 5PM., Monday- Friday.
Hiring for these positions is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a criminal background investigation, employment history verification, and fingerprint check. Federal Work-Study Eligible students are encouraged to apply.
Conduct Area Office Assistant – Open Accordion Closed
Provides support to the Conduct office and for Residential Student Conduct and Development Staff.
Staff is responsible for answering emails and phone calls from students and hall staff regarding appointments for conduct meetings. Student workers will also schedule conduct appointments and communicate with students about their appointment, as well as perform basic office work such as scanning, saving and uploading documents. Staff members are required to work with confidential information regularly and must comply with FERPA guidelines when sharing this information. For this reason, applicants must be comfortable with the sensitive nature of this position. Federal Work-Study Eligible students are encouraged to apply.
Front Desk/Operations Assistant – Closed Accordion Closed
The Housing and Residence Life Front Desk/Operations Assistant position provides support to the housing operations staff, responsible for processing housing applications, monitoring housing assignments, and placing housing charges on student LOUIE accounts for residents at NAU. This position includes Housing and Residence Life representation at: Discover NAU, NAU Orientation, #NAUSaidYes. Residence Life Office Assistant – Closed Accordion Closed
Residence Life Office Assistant greets and welcomes students, staff and visitors while providing quality in person and telephone customer service. Must be able to multi-task and use critical thinking skills while maintaining an organized clean work space. General administrative knowledge including use of office equipment, maintaining inventory of office supplies, creating forms and maintain protocols. Assemble, organize and assist in personnel files and hiring of student positions. Position requires flexibility in variety of tasks and projects. Student Videographer and Photographer – Open Accordion Closed
As a student videographer and photographer you will work with your supervisor and other students on creating compelling and professional video projects that are used for a variety of recruitment or educational processes within Housing and Residence Life (HRL). You will take part in developing a concept, creating shot lists, producing, shooting and editing videos and photos that will be used on the HRL website and on YouTube. As part of this role, individuals are expected to learn and explore new skills and creative styles, improve the production quality, and maintain the NAU brand standards.
