Campus Operations
Building Access and Key Control
Building Access Services is responsible for administering access to all controlled-access buildings or other facilities located on Northern Arizona University’s Flagstaff mountain campus. This includes installation and repair of approved locksets and the administration and duplication of all keys, including keys to locked gates and significant security devices such as safes. The University’s keys may never be duplicated by any outside entity or third party. Only deans, department heads, building managers, or a unit’s designated Facility Services representatives may initiate key requests. Only these authorized officials may submit a Facility Services work request or call 523-4227 to order keys. Each unit is responsible for maintaining with Building Access Services its list of designated representatives who are authorized to request keys on the unit’s behalf. University keys that are no longer needed must be promptly returned to the local official responsible for administering the unit’s keys. For around the clock assistance with non-functional locks or keys, contact Work Control at (928) 523-4227. All bent, broken, or otherwise non-functional keys must be promptly returned to Building Access Services.
