Materials Requirements
Since the majority of our classes are online, you will need
a fast and reliable computer and an online account to participate in our
programs. Some books are also required.
Supplies
To fully participate in classes, you will need:
- a reliable computer
- a fast internet connection
- DSL or cable is ideal, although not mandatory.
This will make audio, video, and simultaneous activities with classmates and
professors easier.
- a microphone
- headphones
- headphones and microphone in one piece are
especially useful
- speakers
- webcam to interact with professors and
classmates (optional)
Software
To make your experience as stress-free as possible, make
sure you have the minimum software:

The Northern
Arizona University Bookstore offers a
reduced price on the MS Office suite. Another option is to download the free,
compatible Open Office suite.
Macromedia Dreamweaver for
your HTML editing
If
you can’t afford Dreamweaver, ask permission from your instructor to use the similar
but free program KompoZer.
Some courses may require different software programs.
Books
Your professors will provide you with a list of required
textbooks when you enroll in classes.
In addition, you are expected to use the latest version of the American Psychology
Association (APA) Style throughout the entire program of studies. You can
locate a book or manual that details APA Style on the web or in a bookstore.
TaskStream
If you participate in our programs, you must purchase a TaskStream account. This electronic
portfolio account allows you to create a growing collection of your work.
To enroll in the appropriate TaskStream program:
- log in and click on "My
Programs"
- click on "Self-Enrollment Options"
- enter the six-digit code that corresponds to
your course (below)
