Occupational Experience Credit

Occupational experience credit can be obtained with a CTE certificate from the Arizona Department of Education. With 6000 clock hours of verified work experience in an approved occupational area you are eligible for a Provisional Career and Technical Education teacher certificate in Arizona.

You can find more information about certification from the Arizona Department of Education.

You will receive up to 20 hours of NAU occupational experience credit once you have a copy of your CTE certificate and have taken your first CTE course.  This credit can be used to meet the 4 hours of internship credit and/or hours in the Emphasis Requirements of the degree (credits cannot be “double dipped”). To get your occupational experience credit posted, scan a copy of your certification and email to nicole.hampton@nau.edu
