Who gets in?

Because our MS program maintains a small student-faculty ratio, we accept only 30 Full-time and 30 Summers Track students per year.

Prospective student

Because we strive to review applicants in a timely manner, application submission prior to the January 15th deadline is the best course of action.

Student Application Checklist:

  1. Check eligibility requirements for graduate program of interest (Degrees & Programs drop-down menu)
  2. GRE scores are now optional.
    • If you choose to submit scores, request that ETS send your official GRE scores to 6964 Northern Arizona U CSDCAS
  3. Apply to the NAU Graduate College (“Apply now” button on right side of page)
  4. Apply to CSDCAS: https://csdcas.liaisoncas.com. Include:
    • A personal essay that addresses the prompt “What is the most valuable life lesson you have learned so far, and how will this contribute to your success as a graduate student in the NAU Clinical Speech Language Pathology program?”
    • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. This includes transcripts for college classes taken in high school (even if for high school credit) as well as transcripts from any foreign institution taken as part of a study abroad program. Official transcripts must be sent directly to CSDCAS from the colleges or universities to: CSDCAS Verification Department, PO Box 9113, Watertown, MA 02471.
    • 3 letters of recommendation. Please note that requests for letters from CSD faculty should take place no later than Nov. 1 to allow sufficient time for letter development.
      • At least two letters from CSD faculty are strongly recommended for students applying to the Full-time program; at least two academic letters are strongly recommended for Full-time Leveler applicants; one or more letters from supervisors or other employers should be included for students applying to the Summers Track program, when applicable.
  5. IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
    • Note that prospective students who do not have an IVP Fingerprint Clearance card will obtain one upon admission. Further information will be provided during orientation.

August 1, 2021

  • CSDCAS applications open;
  • NAU Graduate College applications open.

By January 15, 2022

  • Your CSDCAS application must state “Complete” by the January 15th.
  • It must state “Verified” by January 30th.
  • This includes official transcripts, letters of recommendation, personal essay, and GRE scores. Deadline is precisely at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard time (8:59 PM Pacific Standard time)!  NOTE:  Both application deadlines are set, even though the electronic CSDCAS application may remain open for other purposes.
  • Once submitted, please check the status of your CSDCAS application weekly.
