Leadership opportunities

You have already taken the first step in demonstrating your leadership by getting involved in undergraduate research.  If you are ready to take it to the next level, consider a role in one of our various programs.

RAMP Mentor Accordion Closed

The Research Assistant Mentoring Program is a peer mentoring program that helps students interested in getting started in research find opportunities on campus.  As a student who has already been through the process, you have a lot to offer others who are just entering the world of research.  We provide the materials, training, and events to help you become a positive mentor to others.

Mentor training is held four times per year – September, October, January, and February.  If you are interested in being a part of our next training, complete our Mentor Interest Form.

SURC Officer Accordion Closed

The Student Undergraduate Research Club is open to all students with an interest in research, but it would not exist without the strong leadership of its officers.  Each spring, the officers for the following academic year are elected by members of the club.  Officer positions include:

President: The President runs all officer meetings and oversees club operations.  He/she works closely with the Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity to collaborate on new and existing programs and events.

Vice-President: The Vice-President is responsible for planning and coordinating all general meeting content, including but not limited to arranging special guest speakers.

Treasurer: The Treasurer oversees the club funds, including managing the club bank account and ordering catering for general meetings.

Secretary: The Secretary is responsible for recording all officer and general meeting notes, denoting action items to be completed by the officers and the advisor.

Social Media/Publicity Manager : The Social Media/Publicity Manager is responsible for marketing upcoming events online and around campus.

Visit the SURC page to learn more about meeting dates and officer elections.
