Honors Student Fee

Per Semester

All current NAU Honors students starting NAU prior to Fall 2016 – $150

All current NAU Honors students starting NAU prior to Fall 2017 (Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 admits) – $200

All current NAU Honors students starting NAU prior to Fall 2018 (Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 admits – $250

All NAU Honors students starting Fall 2018 or later – $350

Program fees are figured into your financial aid needs. Students with demonstrated financial need may have the fee reversed automatically.

How the semesterly fee is used

In fall 2010, Honors students participated in an online survey and a series of student meetings we planned seeking input on the new fee. That feedback has become our initial “blueprint” for using the funds, including, but not limited to:

• funding more field trips
• offering more academic support
• at least 14% goes back to Honors students for need-based scholarships
• at least 3% goes back to Honors students for merit-based scholarships
• support for undergraduate research
• support to attend conferences
• bringing in guest speakers
• funding study abroad
• removing any Honors course fees

Student input will continue to be used in determining how the fees will be used.
