Cost and Aid

Financial aid info

Total Grand Canyon Semester fees ($10,651) cover tuition, housing, student insurance*, transportation and field experiences during the program including several days on the Colorado River. Students will be housed together either near or on the NAU campus. Travel to/ from Northern Arizona University, meals, books, and incidental expenses are not included.

Students with entitlement funds will have to create a Consortium Agreement between their home institution and NAU to confirm that they are applying for federal financial aid from only one school.

Arizona university employee discount and waivers, Lumberjack, Blue, and Gold scholarships cannot be applied to the cost of GCS.

Program Cost Breakdown

The Grand Canyon Semester program fee ($10,261) covers the cost of Northern Arizona University tuition, housing, Colorado River trip, lodging/transportation during overnight field trips, and some food in the field. Students are responsible for purchasing their own food while on campus and during day trips. Students will need to purchase course texts and obtain their own camping gear (i.e., outdoor clothing, headlamp, sleeping bag and sleeping mat) to use during the field course.
