NAU’s CSTL contributes to Flagstaff Community STEM Celebration

The Flagstaff Community STEM Celebration went virtual this year with the help of NAU’s Center for Science Teaching and Learning.

Anne Hamlin of the CSTL and STEM City board member helped coordinate the virtual week-long event that featured local STEM organizations with videos about how they use STEM in their daily work.

The videos premiered each night the first week of May and are indefinitely available.

CSTL Receives NASA Funding to Support Outreach in Underserved Communities

The Center for Science Teaching and Learning has received a $359K NASA grant to develop a replicable engagement model to prepare planetary scientists to engage audiences in planetary science with an explicit focus on Black and Latinx communities.

The CSTL team, led by PI Lori Rubino-Hare, will partner with the Lunar and Planetary Institute on Planetary Resources and Content Heroes (ReaCH) to develop a replicable engagement model for preparing NASA scientists to engage diverse audiences in planetary science.

PLANETS 2.0 Practitioner Recruitment Underway

Theresa is Assistant Clinical Professor with the NAUTeach program at the CSTL. She started as a mentor teacher for NAUTeach while also teaching middle and high school mathematics here in Flagstaff. She has a B.S. in Education from Central Michigan University and a M.Ed. with a Technology Emphasis from Lesley University. Getting to Know CSTL: Meet Anne Hamlin
