Each year the NAU Construction Management program awards one student who goes above and beyond, who gives extra time and effort and really steps up in service to the program.
Scholarships & Requirements
The Beavers Heavy Construction Scholarship Accordion Closed
- U.S. Citizen
- Full-time Junior or Senior majoring in Construction Management or Civil Engineering studies directly applicable to the heavy construction industry, or a graduate student pursuing no higher than a Masters degree
- Demonstrated financial need
- Written paper outlining the recipients reason for choosing a career in the heavy construction industry

Scholarship recipients are strongly encouraged to:
- Write a thank you letter explaining how this scholarship will benefit them and how having this degree will impact their future success.
- Seek an internship with a construction company to foster their experience and qualifications as a construction professional.
- Hold membership in the Student Chapter of Associated General Contractors.
- Participate in Toastmasters International or other similar activities to foster development of public speaking opportunities.

- Pursuing a Construction Science, Construction Technology or Construction Management degree.
- Must have a 3.0 GPA in construction major and a 2.5 GPA overall minimum.
- Must demonstrate interest to work in the commercial construction industry via letter of interest.
- Good academic standing.

Kenn Lockhart/CSI Scholarship Foundation Accordion Closed
Selection is based upon the following criteria:
- Scholarships may be awarded to a student with a minimum of three years completed toward a four-year and above degree and at least one year remaining to complete their professional degree.
- Student must be a resident of Arizona and be enrolled in an accredited college in Arizona.
- Student must be majoring in architecture, engineering for building projects, landscape architecture, interior design, and construction science and technology, including construction management.
- Student must have shown a special skill and advancement in the areas of architecture, engineering for building projects, landscape architecture, interior design, and construction science and technology, including construction management. Financial need is not a criterion.
- Students must have a grade point average of not less than 2.5 in a grading scale of 4.0.

AGC Foundation Scholarships Accordion Closed
Selection is based on the following criteria:
How much money is available:
Valley of the Sun Chapter of Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) Accordion Closed
- has or will receive a diploma from an accredited high school
- have a GPA between 3.0 and 4.0 if already enrolled in college or technical school or a GPA between 3.4 and 4.0 if graduating from high school
- demonstrate a relationship to CFMA or other qualified construction associations by letter of recommendation from a member or an employee of a member company
- have a declared major in business or accounting
- show professional or civic involvement in the community.
The Kemmerly Family Endowed Award for Native American Construction Management Students Accordion Closed
The Kemmerly Family Endowed Award for Native American Construction Management Students shall be used to support students completing their Construction Management degree. Eligible expenses may include but are not limited to equipment, books, professional development, career services (internships), and other expenses at the discretion of the of Construction Management award committee. Award recipients shall be selected by the Construction Management award committee within the College of Engineering, Informatics, and Applied Sciences. The donors have expressed a preference that the award go to Native American students. The Kemmerly family, who owns Miramonte Homes has generously set up an award for the CM program that is for our Native American students. There is over $3500 eligible to be awarded this fall. Eligible expenses may include but are not limited to equipment, books, professional development, career services (internships), and other expenses at the discretion of the of Construction Management award committee. This award is intended for Native American students in the Construction Management program to assist with additional expenses (not tuition). Please submit a 500-word essay on your career plans in construction, your NAU experience and how you would benefit from the award. Please detail how you would use the funds if you received this award. All applications are due here Friday, September 20nd.
The Okland Diversity Scholarship Accordion Closed
The Okland Diversity Scholarship is available to underrepresented minority students enrolled at a U.S. educational institution who, in Fall 2024, will begin either their sophomore or junior year of an accredited construction management program or related field (e.g., engineering, architecture, etc.). Underrepresented minority students include any student who has at least one birth parent
who is a member of one of the following minority groups: Black/African American, Hispanic or Latino, American Indian, Native Hawaiian, Asian American, and/or Pacific Islander. A $5,000 tuition scholarship and internship with Okland will be awarded to up to two students who meet the required criteria and standards. Winners will also receive a paid internship with Okland for Summer 2024, during which they will be paired with an Okland mentor who will serve as a resource during the internship and ensuing academic year. Accepting and completing the internship is a condition of receiving the scholarship award.

The Medrano Family Endowed Award for Construction Management Accordion Closed
The Medrano Family Endowed Award for Construction Management has been established by esteemed Construction Management graduates and passionate Lumberjacks – Al ’92, Nancy ’93, Alec ’22, and Nikolas ’23. Preference will be given to student(s) demonstrating field experience in construction management through internships or other experiential learning and subject to the following criteria:
- Enrollment in the Construction Management Program
- Sophomore, junior or senior status
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Demonstrated financial need
- AZ residents only

- Scholarships are awarded within 60 days of application deadline.
- First-time candidates applying for the scholarship will be given preference over those who reapply.
- CFMA VOS welcomes former recipients of this scholarship to reapply by submitting the information requested above, plus an update (progress report) stating your progress to reaching your educational goal.
