The 2025-2026 application cycle will open November 18, 2024.
The NAU Office of Graduate & Professional Studies offers scholarships up to $1,000. Applicants for these awards must be new or continuing degree-seeking graduate students who will be enrolled full-time or part-time for the designated academic semesters and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75.

Louis H. and Betty J. Quayle Scholarship Accordion Closed
The 2025-2026 application cycle will open November 18, 2024.
The Louis H. and Betty J. Quayle Scholarship provides up to $4,000 per semester to new or continuing degree-seeking graduate students (full- or part-time) who are members of a federally-recognized Native American tribe or nation.

NAU scholarships
Scholarships by academic department
Many academic colleges and departments offer a limited number of graduate scholarships. Deadlines vary, so become familiar with the application process and deadlines by visiting your program, department, and/or college websites.
NAU Foundation Scholarships
There are two separate applications for NAU Foundation scholarships:
- Available through the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid
- Available through the NAU Foundation
To find out your maximum eligibility, students must complete both applications.
Some university scholarships are need-based; therefore, you should also file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Visit the Office of Student Financial Aid for more information.
