The Department of Psychological Sciences celebrates students’ successes throughout the year and is particularly pleased to acknowledge its Outstanding Seniors for the fall 2020 semester. These individuals were chosen for their stellar academic records and activities related to psychological sciences.
Oksana Ball was lauded for her work in Dr. Ann Rumble’s research lab in which she, and another member of her research team, gathered police body camera footage for an ongoing policing project, trained behavioral coders, and completed a poster for presentation at a regional psychology conference. She has demonstrated consistent growth as a student and maintained academic excellence while working full time. Oksana is planning to apply to graduate programs in school psychology (EdS) so that she can become a school psychologist and work with children in the school system.
Alexis Eisenbrey was recognized for her academic excellence and significant contributions within Dr. Steven’s research lab working on clinical interventions for concussion patients. Of note were her strong interpersonal skills, positivity, creative contributions to problem-solving, and dedication to implementing the Enhanced Rest clinical interventions with concussion patients.
In additional to these two Outstanding Seniors, Psychological Sciences major Lindsay Strickler was selected as the Outstanding Senior to represent the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. This selection was celebrated earlier in the semester at a university-wide event. Lindsay was recognized her academic achievements and her significant contributions to the education of fellow students at the university, particularly those completing courses in introductory statistics and research methods. Many psychology students benefitted from her services as a teaching assistant and tutor. Lindsay has already been accepted into a graduate program in forensic psychology and is planning on becoming a teacher at either the high school or college level.
The Department of Psychological Sciences offers its congratulations to Oksana, Alexis, and Lindsay, and to all of the fall 2020 graduates.
