Center for Science Teaching and Learning
Shaping the future of STEM education
The Center for Science Teaching and Learning (CSTL) shapes the future of STEM education through professional learning, outreach, research, and evaluation. Our team partners with university faculty, educators, and community members to provide professional learning and development, collaborative grant development, community programs, educational research, and evaluation and assessment. CSTL customizes our professional learning and evaluation programs to best meet the needs of partners.
Our professional learning programs use research-based strategies to develop STEM content understanding, integrate engineering practices, and implement the vision of STEM education for all. Our evaluation programs measure learning outcomes to inform and strengthen evidenced-based STEM education. The CSTL has over 30 years of experience in successful grant writing and program implementation. The CSTL is part of the Department of STEM Education and the College of Education at Northern Arizona University.
