CHER partners with Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH)

CHER has been awarded funding for several projects from the Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH), a program supported by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences and Indian Health Service. “The NARCH initiative supports partnerships between American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) tribes or tribally-based organizations and institutions that conduct intensive academic-level biomedical research. Ricky Camplain accepted as an Indigenous Substance Abuse, Medicines, and Health Research Training Fellow

Ricky Camplain, a Postdoctoral Scholar at CHER, has been accepted as a Fellow in the Indigenous Substance Abuse, Medicines, and Health Research Training program. The program is affiliated with the Indigenous Wellness Research Institute, under the National Center of Excellence. It is a mentorship program that allows scholars of indigenous backgrounds to research in the areas of substance abuse, medicines and addictions within their indigenous communities.

New Interdisciplinary Health PhD Program

Dr. Teufel-Shone Highlighted as a National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences Grantee

The National Institute of Environment Health Sciences has highlighted Nicolette Teufel-Shone, Associate Director of CHER, as a featured grantee of funding. She is recognized for her effort to create meaningful community partnerships with Native communities. Working closely with these communities extends the reach of community engagement, data collection, and dissemination. As the director of the Community Engagement Core of the Center for Indigenous Environmental Health Research, she is working to grow health and wellness promotion in Native communities through collaborative relationships.

INSPiRE: Involving Native Stakeholders in Pain Research Efforts
