Chief and Pinn to be featured at Flagstaff Indigenous Peoples’ Day events

The City of Flagstaff designated Monday, October 12, as Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Carmenlita Chief, senior program coordinator and Travis Pinn, doctoral student at Northern Arizona University in Interdisciplinary Health, are presenting remotely at 11 a.m. and noon. SHERC Advisory Council member, Candida Hunter, will also present at the 11 a.m. panel.

Chief and co-investigators publish stomach cancer education study

Stomach cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death globally. Helicobacter pylori infection is a major known risk factor for stomach cancer.
