Community Health Worker Workforce: Assessment of the Integration and Financing of Community Health Workers within Arizona Medicaid Health Plans

In response to shifts supporting the integration of the Community Health Worker (CHW) workforce into public health and health care systems, the Center for Health Equity Research at Northern Arizona University interviewed leadership of all Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) contracted health plans to assess innovations in CHW workforce integration and financing.

From their research, they developed the   Community Health Worker Workforce: Assessment of the Integration and Financing of Community Health Workers within Arizona Medicaid Health Plans report.


Community Health Representative Workforce Assessment (Phase I)

Dr. Samantha Sabo, associate professor for the Department of Health Science and the Center for Health Equity Research for Northern Arizona University, Dr. Ricky Camplain, CHER and health science assistant professor, and Louisa O’Meara, research assistant at CHER, published the Community Health Representative Workforce Assessment 2019 report for the Arizona Advisory Council on Indian Health Care in collaboration with the Arizona Community Health Representative Coalition.
