Overview
The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities
(DDD), works in partnership with:
- individuals with developmental disabilities
- their families
- advocates
- community members and service providers
The division:
develops, enhances and supports environments which enable
individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve and maintain physical
well-being, personal and professional satisfaction, participation as family and
community members and safety from abuse and exploitation.
Duties
An internship with this agency could lead to employment
within DDD in the future. As an intern, you
will:
- assist a support coordinator in their duties to
learn all aspects of that position
- assist in contacting families and all agencies
involved with each individual to schedule service plan development and review
meetings
- attend these meetings
- learn required paperwork and filing
- become familiar with other agencies DDD works
with
- research and develop new resources
