Coconino County Community Services Department: Basic Business Empowerment
Overview
The Basic Business Empowerment Program offers internships pertaining to
Individual Development Accounts (IDAs). IDAs:
- are dedicated savings accounts, targeted
specifically to working families
- provide an incentive to work
- save and build assets as a means to reach self-sufficiency
Duties
We’re looking for student interns and other volunteers to
assist with:
- recruitment and retention of participants
- grant writing
- marketing
- data collection and analysis
- development of financial education classes
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- developing a system for continuous marketing and
recruitment of IDA account holders
- timely preparation of semi-annual progress
report
- direct assistance to IDA participants including
determining eligibility, monitoring deposits, referrals to community resources,
creation of action plans and other individual assistance as needed
- keeping informed of national IDA issues
- maintaining current participant records and
providing accurate information to database manager
- development of relevant financial education
based on identified needs of participants
- assisting with applications for funding
opportunities
Qualifications
You must be able to:
- work and communicate effectively with others
- maintain records and participant files
- speak to individuals and groups as necessary to
promote agency’s asset building opportunities
- computer skills are desirable
