NAU Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Inquiry & Creativity
The Office for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity honors current undergraduate students who have demonstrated initiative, productivity, and dedication in contributing to the university community in the areas of research, scholarly, and/or creative activities with the NAU Awards for Excellence in Undergraduate Inquiry & Creativity. The awardee will be honored at the OURCA Reception and Showcase each April.
2024-2025 nomination timeline for undergraduate students:
January 15 – March 24, 2025
Nominating an undergraduate student
Students in any discipline with at least 75 credit hours in a baccalaureate degree-granting program are eligible to be nominated for this Excellence award.
Nomination letters should include a description of the research, scholarly, or creative work in which the student participates, and should demonstrate the nominee’s qualifications in the following terms:
- academic excellence
- initiative
- creativity
- productivity
- dissemination activities
- collaborative activities
- contributions to the university community
Who can nominate?
You may nominate if you are
- a full-time faculty member
- a research faculty member
- an advising staff member
- a dean or department chair
Nomination materials (to be submitted as 4 PDF files)

- up to three letters of support
- the nominee’s transcript
- the nominee’s CV or resume
