Congratulations to Amit Kumar for recent coverage on KJZZ radio station in Phoenix on his medicare claims data study. Kumar, an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, recently published “Social and Health-Related Factors Associated with Enrollment in Medicare Advantage Plans in Older Adults” in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society. Co-investigators are Maricruz Rivera-Hernandez, Amol M. Karmarkar, Lin-Na Chou, Yong-Fang Kuo, Regents’ professor Julie A. Baldwin, CHER director, and Orestis A. Panagiotou, Robert E. Burke, and Kenneth J. Ottenbacher. Their work is a longitudinal study linked with Medicare claims data.
