SELECT Program
Special Education Learning Experiences for Competency in Teaching (SELECT) is sponsored by the Arizona Department of Education and offered through the Institute for Human Development at Northern Arizona University. SELECT courses are recommended for teachers, administrators, related-service personnel, paraeducators, and other interested individuals.
Candidates can take SELECT classes for free as a professional growth student; seat hour certificates awarded to those who finish will be accepted by the Arizona Department of Education Certification Unit towards the professional development requirements for certificate renewal. SELECT seat hour certificates are also accepted for salary schedule advancement/placement at certain Arizona public school districts, check with your HR department.
SELECT classes can be taken for university credit by professionals who are required by their school districts to have official transcripts and for those who may need to transfer hours out of state (tuition and associated fees apply).
SELECT courses are graduate-level, asynchronous online classes with a weekly time commitment. We suggest limiting to two classes per session.

SELECT courses are taught online and are worth three (3) academic credit hours or up to forty-five (45) contact hours. SELECT courses are graduate level classes.
