Professional Growth

The SELECT program offers several courses throughout the year to fill the professional development needs of teachers, administrators, and the general public. If you wish to enroll in one of our courses for professional growth purposes, please review the information listed below. Thank you for your interest in the SELECT program.

Enrollment deadline

Affiliate Forms are due via email (select@nau.edu) no later than two (2) weeks prior to the course start date.

Registration for all listed courses will close two weeks prior to the course start date.

All Professional Growth Affiliate students are required to submit a new authorization form every year (alternatively, ask us to reuse the information on a previously submitted form).

Important: If you do not get a confirmation email within one (1) week of submitting your affiliate form, please contact SELECT at 928-523-1809 or select@nau.edu.

Affiliate Authorization Forms are due via email two (2) weeks prior to the course start date. Early submissions are encouraged to ensure registration requests are completed before a course becomes full.

Tuition

SELECT classes taken for professional growth are free to educators, administrators, and the general public.

Please note that students taking classes for professional growth will not have access to an official transcript. If you need an official transcript, please refer to the NAU Academic Credit Information enrollment section.

Materials

You may be expected to purchase a textbook or two for a SELECT class. Your course syllabus (which you should receive one week prior to the first class session) will list information about the textbook and purchasing information. If you have not received your course syllabus after enrolling, please contact SELECT to ask for a syllabus. The cost of textbooks is the only cost to you.

Certificate of Completion

Professional growth students will receive a Certificate of Completion listing the number of contact hours earned in the course as soon as the instructor has completed the grading process. Please note, you will not have access to an official transcript when taking courses for professional growth. Contact hours will be awarded based on the grade received in the course: A=45 contact hours, B=30 contact hours, C=15 contact hours, D/F= 0 contact hours.

Contact hours are not transferable to academic credit. For academic credit, you must enroll as an NAU tuition-paying student prior to participating in any class.
