Graduate studies in Global Languages & Cultures

The Department of Global Languages and Cultures offers three Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) programs dedicated to training exceptional Spanish language educators.

MAT – Spanish Language Accordion Closed

This program is for students interested in obtaining a graduate degree whose coursework involves a balance between pedagogical practices, linguistics and literature.

MAT – Spanish Secondary Education Accordion Closed

This program is for students interested in obtaining both a graduate degree and a Secondary Education Teaching Certificate. The coursework involves pedagogical practices, linguistics, literature, and student teaching.

This is a nationally accredited program, authorized by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation.

Accelerated Bachelor to Spanish MAT programs Accordion Closed

These programs are for students interested in obtaining both a bachelor’s degree and a graduate degree in as little as 5 years. The coursework involves Spanish undergraduate courses as well as Spanish graduate courses on pedagogical practices, linguistics, and literature. You may also obtain a Secondary Education Teaching Certificate.
