NAU Campus Recreation and Student Life

Recreation opportunities abound at NAU

On or off campus, you’ll find four seasons of adventure at NAU. Flagstaff is the nexus of an outdoor landscape that includes the majesty of the Grand Canyon, the stunning red rocks of Sedona, the waterscape of Lake Powell, the eye candy of the Painted Desert, and so much more.

Recreation Center

Campus Recreation manages the Recreation Center with state-of-the-art facilities including courts for basketball, volleyball, squash, and racquetball; an indoor track; 38-foot climbing wall; free weight area; cardio machines; and more. There, you can take group fitness classes, get personal training, and organize customized classes.

Wall Aquatic Center

You can also enjoy the Wall Aquatic Center’s 50-meter competitive pool, 25-meter deep dive tank, warm-up spa, and more. The pool has dedicated kayak hours, swim lessons, diving lessons, and water exercise classes. Several athletic fields across campus host intramural sports activities.

We’ll come to your group or organization for individualized fitness programming that we’ve customized to your interests and needs. You can schedule the classes of your choice in our cutting-edge facilities or at convenient, on-campus locations. Whatever the demands of your busy schedule, our flexible fitness options will help your group stay happy, healthy, and active.

Want to head outside but don’t know where to start? Or maybe you’re ready to go, but need a hiking buddy? Check out the NAU Outdoor Adventures Co-op Program. Co-op members can check out camping gear and other outdoor equipment, attend clinics and seminars, and get discounts on organized trips.
