Please follow the steps below to apply for the Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene Degree Completion Program. You need to apply to both the Dental Hygiene Degree Completion Program and NAU.

- Are you a Dental Hygiene Student?
- Are you on a wait list for a Dental Hygiene School?
- A Licensed, Registered Dental Hygienist?
Did you Graduate, or are you attending a CODA Accredited Dental Hygiene Program?
If you answered YES to theses questions, you qualify!

2. Apply to the BSDH Online Degree Completion Program Accordion Closed
Fill out the online application and submit it electronically. There is no charge for this application.
To complete the application process, please email us a copy of your dental hygiene license to madalyn.smolinski@nau.edu
You will be notified of your acceptance to the program once we evaluate your application, usually within 24-48 hours.
3. Apply to Northern Arizona University Accordion Closed
Apply to NAU: Online Student Admissions
For fees and tuition information, go to Student and Departmental Account Services. Click on Resident Undergraduate Distance Learning if you are an Arizona resident. If you are not an Arizona resident, click on the link World Wide University (WWU) and University House Special Tuition Rate.
4. Send Official Transcripts to Northern Arizona University Accordion Closed
You must submit official transcripts from each university or college listed on your application to the Northern Arizona University Undergraduate Admissions Office. Your application will not be processed until ALL transcripts have been received at Undergraduate Admissions.

5. Receive Acceptance to the University Accordion Closed
You should receive written notification of your acceptance from the undergraduate admissions department within four to six weeks of transcripts and application submission.
If you have not received the notification it is likely that one or more of your transcripts have not been received. Please contact Undergraduate.Admissions@nau.edu and check to see that your application and all of your transcripts have been received.
6. Develop a Plan of Study Accordion Closed
Once you have been accepted into the university and enroll in your first course, the Registrar will perform a transfer credit evaluation on your transcripts and assign an appropriate Northern Arizona University equivalency to those courses that are applicable to the program.
Upon completion of the transfer credit evaluation, the Dental Hygiene Completion Program Advisor will then send you an unofficial curriculum check sheet outlining a plan of study which will help guide you in completing your degree.
You may mail copies of unofficial college/university transcripts to allow advisers to advise you about what coursework will be required to complete the degree at Northern Arizona University.

7. Access LOUIE and NAU E-mail Account Accordion Closed
First you must access my.nau.edu. This will lead you to a homepage where you can access your e-mail and LOUIE accounts.
Once you have accessed your e-mail account, you will be able to login to LOUIE. You will use LOUIE to do everything from viewing a copy of your transfer credit evaluation to registering for classes.
If you have any trouble accessing your e-mail account, you can contact the Academic Computing Help Desk.
To register for classes and take online courses, you must access LOUIE, the university’s online registration and student information system.

Tips for registering
Register as early as you can.
The first class you should register for is DH 350: Contemporary Dental Hygiene Professional Issues. This course provides a critical analysis of important professional issues, with an emphasis on the application of research to practice and development of future policies.

Please contact your MCCCD 2NAU Advisor. There is not a separate NAU CEP application; however, you will need to apply to NAU.
