Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Political Science




Both degree programs require a minimum of 120 completed credit hours.  The Bachelor of Arts requires a two-year proficiency in a modern language other than English.  The Bachelor of Science requires more math and science courses.

This degree is designed to provide you with:

Bachelor/Juris Doctor 3+3 Program 

This plan is eligible for NAU’s 3+3 program offered in conjunction with the University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law. This program allows outstanding students to substitute their final year of undergraduate studies with their first year of law school and earn an undergraduate (BS or BA) and law (JD) degree in six instead of seven years. You must complete 120 units of coursework as outlined below:

  • 35 units of liberal studies requirements - 12 core + 27 electives
  • 39 units of major requirements
  • 18-24 units of minor requirements
  • BA only: 16 units of language requirements

You must complete Northern Arizona University's diversity requirement by taking two 3-unit courses:

  • One in ethnic diversity
  • One in global awareness

Northern Arizona University requires that at least 30 units of the courses you take for your degree be upper-division (300 and above) courses.

Also note that you may elect to complete a merged or dual major instead of a minor. See your adviser for more information. 

BA only: You must demonstrate proficiency in a language other than English that is equivalent to four terms of university coursework in the same language.
