Ticketing Information
To purchase tickets for an upcoming theatre event or for any of NAU’s upcoming events, please visit NAU’s Central Ticketing Office.
Theatre Department box office policy
Photography, videotaping, audio, or other recording of event is expressly prohibited.
Northern Arizona University Theatre venues have different seating policies and practices.
The Studio Theater (located on the west end of the Performing and Fine Arts building) is general admission, and the seating is flexible depending on the production. You may see productions staged in a variety of ways (In –the-round, tennis court, thrust, etc.) With each seating choice, different late seating policies are applied to different productions. Please consult with the House Manager for questions.
Tickets are valid only for the event issued on the date and time specified.
All patrons are required to have a ticket, regardless of age. Moreover, NAU Theatre typically does not “rate” productions except in extreme cases where mature adult audiences are recommended. Children under four years of age (particularly infants) are discouraged from attending any NAU Theatre production except for events specifically geared towards children of that age.
Will Call
Will call is located in the lobby of each venue (the Studio or the Clifford E. White Theatre), and opens one hour prior to each show.
Be sure to bring:
- Photo ID
- The credit card that was used to purchase the tickets
- Your Central Ticket Office order number as any or all of these may be required for ticket pick up
Unclaimed Tickets
Due to the small seating capacity of our theatre venues, any unclaimed tickets are subject to release and resale. Will-call ticket holders are guaranteed admission until five minutes prior to curtain time, at which time their seats may be released and their tickets voided in the event of a sold-out performance.
We are unable to issue refunds or exchanges for any tickets unclaimed at curtain time. This situation is particularly apparent in the Studio Theatre, so we ask subscribers to call the box office if they are unable to attend on any designated night they may have tickets purchased in advance.
Standby Waiting List
If a performance is sold out, patrons may request to be placed on the standby list. If seats are available at 5 minutes before curtain time, standby guests will be allowed to purchase tickets on a first-come, first-served basis, provided that all guests in their party are present. Waiting patrons may be asked to wait in a standby line in order to comply with safety regulations. NAU Theatre does not guarantee that a show will be held past the published start time; patrons receiving their tickets late will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager.
Special Seating
We offer special seating for patrons that require such due to physical or other impairment conditions. Please request special seating when making reservations. Both of our theatre venues are wheelchair accessible (some assistance may be required).
If you wish to sit closer to the stage than designated wheelchair seating in the Clifford E. White Theater you may request that seating as well, or inform the House Manager of your preference when you arrive. Again, we will make every effort to accommodate your request, but such seating must be at the discretion of the House Manager.
Performance Seating
Performance seating begins 30 minutes prior to curtain.
Late Seating
We strive to begin our performances on time. To avoid disturbing both the actors and other patrons, latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager in a special late-seating section at the rear of the theatre and they may move to an empty seat at intermission.
In some cases, often depending upon the production, a director may specifically request that there be no late seating; and in order to preserve the artistic experience, we will honor that request. We encourage all patrons to arrive at the theatre early.
Conduct
We reserve the right to refuse admission or eject any person whose conduct is deemed unbecoming or interferes with the audience’s ability to enjoy the performance in the manner in which it was intended.
Where it may be appropriate to come and go at will or openly converse with others when at the cinema, it is not so at the theatre. The staff has the right to enforce house rules for patron comfort.
For the comfort and safety of everyone, please refrain from bringing the following prohibited items:
- Strollers
- Large backpacks
- Alcohol
- Cans
- Bottles
- Weapons of any kind
- Pets
Due to most artist requests, no professional recording devices are allowed. Cell phones, laptop computers, and “Smart” Devices, tablets, etc. should be turned completely off.
NAU Theater is a non-smoking facility.
