PBC Badge
A security ID badge is required at all times to access the HSEB building at the PBC campus. Badges are coded to give you access to the general building, classrooms, the gross anatomy lab, the student government lounge and other such places. As they become available, dates for acquiring your badge will be communicated to you.
Students who are not able to attend the assigned dates due to distance travel and other hardships can also arrange to get a badge by contacting Brandi Gladden. Badges can be acquired in Building 1 of the PBC campus which is on the corner of Van Buren and 5th Street on the 1st floor.
Housing
As you may already know, on campus housing is not available in Phoenix. Many students choose to find housing close to campus during the didactic year so they can easily access the campus. The UA Medical School and NAU have developed a Housing Guide to help you find housing in the nearby area. With the increasing growth of business in the downtown area of Phoenix, there is now a large selection of housing opportunities available, including apartments, condominiums and homes. If you will be moving to Phoenix to attend the program, please feel free to start your housing search. There are also long- and short-term options throughout the greater Phoenix area, and an abundance of realtors and rental agencies to assist you in your search. We highly recommend you communicate with current students regarding their experiences, as they will be first-hand rather than advertised.
Parking
Parking at or near the Health Sciences Education Building is a bit costly. A limited number of permits will be available, enabling students to park in one of two University of Arizona lots near the campus. The annual permit fee for 2017-18 was $700 for the lot and $900 for the garage, and these fees may go up for this next academic year. Call UA Parking and Transportation Customer Service at 520-626-7275 beginning early April for current information and to purchase a permit for the year. There are several private parking structures in the area that offer reasonable rates for NAU. Limited metered parking is available in the area and, farther out, some on-street parking that is not metered. Public transportation (buses and light rail) also support the area. Monthly passes may be purchased for these options. Details about public transportation can be found online.
Registration and Payment of Tuition & Fees
The tuition rate and program fees for the 2020-2021 academic year is generally established by the Arizona Board of Regents in April. Our Program Data webpage will have updated figures to give you an idea of costs of attending after July 1.
Tuition and fees are due prior to the start of class in August, and each subsequent semester. To set up a payment plan, please see the Bursar’s page on the NAU web site. There is a fee for monthly billing and a late-payment fee if not paid before classes begin.
Because you will all be taking the same courses throughout the year, staff will register/enroll you in your courses each semester. This will not occur until all of your required paperwork is complete and submitted so it is recommended that you do this as early as possible. If paperwork is not complete by the start of the semester, we will not enroll you and you will not be able to attend classes. Once you are registered, you will receive notice of payments due for the semester.
Financial Aid
Please be sure to complete your FAFSA as soon as possible to initiate your financial aid. Our FA resource person is Laura Kennedy at Laura.Kennedy@nau.edu. She is very well versed in the DPT Program details so do not hesitate to contact her if you have questions. Scholarship information can be found on the NAU Web site, and as external scholarship information becomes available, we will forward it to you. Most grant and scholarship programs that become available require a completed FAFSA regardless of qualifying for financial aid. Be sure to complete the FAFSA regardless.
