Physical Therapy Alumni Association

Save the date for the Borden Tabor Lecture series March 7th, 2020!

Borden Tabor 2020 Flyer

The Northern Arizona University Physical Therapy Alumni Association (NAU PTAC) is a group of NAU alumni who function with the purpose of uniting alumni and current students throughout the year.

With our two lecture series, we are able to provide our alumni with continuing education opportunities as well as raise funds to provide current students with scholarship opportunities.  The NAU PTAC also provides upcoming graduates with a cap and gown exchange program to assist current and future students with purchasing their cap and gown at a lower cost.

2020 has been titled “The Year of Reconnection” for the alumni board as we plan to improve our connection with alumni through lecture series, social media, and other events throughout the year.

NAU PTAC offers two lecture series each year:

Borden Tabor Lecture Series – Phoenix Biomedical Campus – Spring

High Altitude Lecture Series – Flagstaff Campus – Fall

Rachel is from Holbrook, Arizona (90 miles east of Flagstaff). After graduation, she started her career in Phoenix, AZ practiced in Inpatient Rehabilitation and Outpatient Orthopedics at Banner Good Samaritan, then Outpatient Neuro at Rehab Without Walls. She then moved back to Holbrook for a couple of years and practiced at High Desert PT, owned by Joe Hartnett (NAU Alumnus). In Holbrook she was part of a group that started a non-profit called the Friends of the Holbrook Animal Shelter with the goal of improving animal welfare and decreasing euthanasia in the area. It is going strong and euthanasia numbers have decreased from an average of 10 per week to 2 per month, none of which are adoptable animals! She got engaged and moved back to Phoenix in 2016 and began practicing at SWAN Rehabilitation in Phoenix. This is Rachel’s second term in the Alumni Association. She was previously Treasurer.
