Doctor of Physical Therapy
Northern Arizona University (NAU) has been nationally recognized as a leader in physical therapy education since graduating its first class in 1980. The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree is offered through a residential or hybrid format to meet the needs of all types of students applying to physical therapy programs. The Residential DPT Programs are located at the Flagstaff Mountain Campus and the Phoenix Bioscience Core. The Hybrid DPT Program is primarily online and can be completed from anywhere with periodic travel to Flagstaff or Phoenix for rich, immersive in-person learning experiences. Each DPT program prepares graduates for contemporary physical therapy practice with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors essential for a rapidly evolving health care system.
NAU DPT program faculty are recognized for their expertise and contribution to the physical therapy profession. They translate this expertise into learning experiences for the students and mentor them to become life-long learners, critical thinkers, and clinically competent practitioners who function autonomously within a complex health care system. Through an extensive network of Arizona-based and national clinical sites, students complete in-person clinical education experiences throughout their curriculum learning from NAU’s expert clinical faculty across the broad spectrum of rehabilitation centers and care settings to improve function and optimize health and well-being of individuals and communities.
