Physical Therapy faculty awarded tenure and/or promotion effective the 2022-2023 academic year
We are pleased to announce the faculty members recognized for their commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service by being awarded tenure and/or promotion for the 2022-23 academic year. Dr. John Heick, PT, PhD, DPT, Associate Professor in the Dept. was awarded tenure and Dr. Pamela Bosch, PT, PhD was promoted to Professor. These professional milestones underscore Drs. Heick and Bosch contributions to NAU mission and uphold the standards of Physical Therapy discipline.

NAU Office of Graduate and Professional Studies presents 2022 Outstanding Graduate Coordinator Award to Michelle Cook
On April 27, Northern Arizona University (NAU) Office of Graduate and Professional Studies, hosted the annual Awards ceremony to recognize the achievements of the university’s faculty, staff members and researchers. Michelle Cook was recognized for her significant contributions in making NAU such a special place to work and teach. Award recipients were applauded for their outstanding abilities, dedication, and innovation in being selected for these honors.
The ceremony was conducted live in person for the first time since 2019. Congratulations to Michelle for her dedication and service, as well as their enduring commitment to our students.
DPT students shine at Office of Graduate Professional Studies Awards ceremony 2022
Every year, students from various graduate programs at Northern Arizona University compete in the 3 Minute Research Presentation (3MRP) and Graduate Student Government (GSG) Poster Symposium and it gives them a unique opportunity to measure their presentation skills against their peers. Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students from both Flagstaff and Phoenix Bioscience Core cohorts represented the Dept. very well.
Kylee Austin, Isabel Ticlo, and Anna Weymann presented their 3-minute presentations at the 3MRP competition and Jake Bartschi, Ellie Biesmeyer, Isabel Ticlo, and Nathan Turley presented their posters at the symposium. Anna Leigh Weymann, SPT was unanimously chosen as the winner of the 3MRP Competition by the judges. In addition, she also won the People’s Choice Award. For the poster presentations, Ellie Biesmeyer won the 3rd place in the ‘Best Poster Award’. The winners were handed certificates by Maribeth Watwood, Vice Provost and Dean of the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies.
In addition, Madison Allen and Tate S Tsingine won the Louis H. and Betty J. Quayle Scholarships.
