Legendary Teacher Day

Concept

Legendary Teacher Day- A day we encourage members of our community to contact their own “Legendary Teacher” and let them know how they made a difference in our lives.

In my new role with NAU, I was given the charge of advocating for education throughout the state.  In the spirit of this goal, I am launching a program that I believe supports our core mission…teaching and learning.

-Dr. Nicholas I Clement

How can faculty participate?

Have any organization you are affiliated with  consider approving or endorsing the resolution provided on the website linked below.  If approved, publicize the day through their website, etc.

Micro-teacher grant

In an effort to support current teachers who are on their way to legendary status, I have started a foundation that will award micro-grants ($100) to teachers.    This grant fund will be open for applications beginning Oct 1 and will include a streamlined process done on-line.

New book

Funding for the micro-grant fund will come from royalties from a new book I just published titled “Legendary Teacher Stories…How to Catch a Swamp Frog”.  This book celebrates the impact teachers have on the future lives of students.  I know this is a shameless plug…but all royalties will go to and sustain the micro-grant fund.  This book might fit your needs for your post-bac teacher training degree and/or new professor hires or other professor recognition programs.

Information on purchasing the book,  the micro-grant fund  and Legendary Teacher Day can be found on the Legendary Teacher day website.
