Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and Disability Pride and Heritage Month
In recognition of both Hispanic Heritage Month and Disability Pride and Heritage Month running concurrently, The Clara M. Lovett Art Museum wants to highlight two sculptures by Francisco Zúñiga. Zúñiga is best known for his sculptures and public artworks. Most of his works focus on working-class women, often those who would work in marketplaces. Kaneko's Dango
Jun Kaneko is a Japanese artist and United States resident, who has created a series of sculptures which he has deemed “Dango,” a Japanese word meaning dumpling. They range in size from small hand-held pieces up to eight feet in height! In our upcoming exhibition, we have two Dango pieces. Although neither are at the extremes in terms of size, they are drastically different in style and color.

Celebrating our most recent acquisition, Portrait in Black and White by Debra Edgerton.
Edgerton, an accomplished watercolor and multi-media artist, is an Assistant Professor at the NAU School of Art and has been a faculty member for nearly 30 years.
Portrait in Black and White is a watercolor on paper painting. The white background in this piece helps to isolate the subject and the subtle use of color adds depth to the fabric.

For this week’s #NAUArtistOfTheWeek, we feature Cameron Zucker, a photography major in the School of Communication and a local working artist of Flagstaff. To kick off this semester’s #NAUArtistOfTheWeek series, we are happy to feature artist and Navy veteran Anthony Kiefer. Anthony graduated high school in 2005 from Northland Preparatory Academy and then pursued engineering at the University of Arizona before joining the United States Navy.
