Patents

A patent is a grant of legal rights by the US government through the United States Patent and Trademark Office. A patent grants the right to its holder to exclude others from making, selling, or using the patented invention. As an NAU inventor, patenting your technology is the final step in protecting intellectual property, which gives NAU the ability to license the technology to external industry partners.
