Funding law school
Many law students finance their education through loans, work-study, scholarships, and grants. Students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every year to be eligible for financial assistance.

Application tips
Give yourself the best chance at success every time you apply for a scholarship by using these tips:
- Pay attention to detail.
- Some scholarships require a letter of recommendation or a short essay. Complete each requirement so you won’t be removed from the applicant pool.
- When you write your scholarship essay, be sincere and share any applicable information, such as community involvement, academic success, your career goals and how the scholarship will help you attain those.
- Apply for all available scholarships to you. Many students incorrectly assume that so many people will apply that they’ll never have a chance at the scholarship. You’ll never know until you apply.
- Use NAU resources that are available to help you with
- resume writing
- essay writing through the University Writing Commons and departmental writing centers. Law school admission committees notice poor grammar and punctuation. It is very important to proof everything.
