Financial aid

Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before being admitted into a graduate program is a good idea. Typically, applications begin in October for the following fall. Applying early enables applicants to be considered for sources with early deadlines. Applicants have the ability to decline or accept funding prior to the start of aid.

Find helpful information about financial aid resources.

Scholarship for Disadvantaged Students

In 2020, the Department of Occupational Therapy was awarded the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students Grant. This grant specifically promotes diversity in the health profession programs by giving students who qualify a scholarship to support their educational attendance. Over the next five years, the NAU OT Department will annually award up to $650,000 to occupational therapy students who qualify for a cumulative of $3.25 million.

WICHE PSEP

The NAU Occupational Therapy program is proud to be recognized as a school authorized to accept students qualifying for the WICHE PSEP. The Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education Professional Student Exchange Program (WICHE PSEP) enables students from Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, Wyoming, and the territory of CNMI to apply for assistance from their home state in the pursuit of a graduate program in the field of occupational therapy. Because the deadline for application is October prior to admission, persons interested in a graduate program are encouraged to apply prior to interviews for the NAU OTD program.
