Fulbright is the flagship educational, international exchange program increasing mutual understanding between people from the United States and around the globe. Sponsored by the US government, Fulbright provides many international travel, teaching, and research opportunities for our students, faculty members, and staff. How to get involved with Fulbright

US student grants
Fulbright offers four-week summer opportunities at various UK universities for first- and second-year undergraduate students who have not yet traveled abroad.
The US Student Program offers 10-month grants for undergraduate seniors, graduate students, and alumni traveling to over 160 countries—with no age limit.
English Teaching Assistantships
Fulbright offers this unique opportunity for up to four US students pursuing projects focused on international contemporary or popular music as a cultural force for expression.
For US and EU citizens, the Commission for Educational Exchange between the United States and Belgium/Luxembourg funds graduate and post-graduate study, research, and lecture proposals in the fields of US–EU relations, EU policy, and EU institutions.
Grants for international travel to Germany, Hungary, and Italy are available to supplement other fellowships that do not include travel costs or to supplement a student’s own funds for study or research.

Fulbright Distinguished Scholar Award
Providing recently graduated scholars an opportunity to conduct research and receive professional training abroad.
Faculty and professionals serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, institutional planning, and related subjects at academic institutions abroad for a period of two to six weeks.
Fulbright International Education Administrators Program
Seminar program helping international education professionals and senior higher education officials from the United States create empowering connections with other countries’ societal, cultural, and higher education systems.
Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program
Primary and secondary school teachers travel abroad for three to six months while pursuing individual projects, conducting research, pursuing professional development, and sharing their expertise with local teachers and students.
Fulbright-Fogarty Fellowships in Public Health
In partnership with the Fogarty International Center at the US National Institutes of Health, this program provides nine-month public health and clinical research opportunities in one of nine countries, in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and South America, to medical and graduate students.
Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms
This professional development fellowship for US elementary, middle, and high school teachers aims to globalize US classrooms through an online professional development course, a Global Education Symposium held in Washington, DC, and a two- to three-week international field experience.

Fulbright Foreign Student Program
Enables non-US graduate students, young professionals, and artists from abroad to study and conduct research in the United States.
Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA)
Provides young, non-US English as a Foreign Language teachers the opportunity to refine their skills and broaden their knowledge of American cultures and customs while strengthening foreign language instruction at US colleges and universities.
International scholar grants
Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program
US higher education institutions may submit proposals to host Fulbright lecturers from abroad for one or both semesters in an academic year.

Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program
Provides grants for foreign scholars from over 100 countries to conduct post-doctoral research, ranging in length from an academic semester to a full academic year, at US institutions.
Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program for Iraq
Brings Iraqi scholars in select fields to US institutions for approximately three months of faculty development, research, and guided study. This program equips students with knowledge and tools to build Iraqi universities’ capacity and advance the education of future generations of Iraqis.

Each year, US Student Program alumni are selected to serve as representatives, recruiters, and spokespersons for the Fulbright program.
Fulbright US Scholar Alumni Ambassadors
Scholar Alumni Ambassadors serve as official representatives of the Fulbright Scholar Program at select events.
This official alumni group for Fulbright grantees from every program offers educational programs, expanded advocacy, opportunities to volunteer, and events such as Advocacy Day, Fulbright Conference, Fulbright Forum, Fulbright TED, and Fulbright in the Classroom.
