What have you been up to lately? Accordion Closed
My current research project explores the history of indigenous peoples in the Hellenistic world (323-30 BC), with a particular focus on the region of Anatolia/Asia Minor (modern Turkey). I seek to understand how these communities were able to maintain traditional practices and identities while interacting with and appropriating hegemonic Greek culture and power structures. Recent publications include The Peoples of Anatolia (Brill, 2022), “Beyond Greeks: Toward More Inclusive Histories of the Ancient Mediterranean” AHB 37 (2023), and “Prolegomena to any Future Indigenous History of the Ancient World” AHR 128.3 (2023).
