Dr. Lynda Ransdell earned her Ph.D. in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University. She also earned a Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Studies from Smith College and a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Kentucky University.
Dr. Ransdell’s research over the past 20+ years years has focused on physical activity and public health in underserved populations including physical activity measurement, behavior, and intervention design.
She has also studied physical profiling, monitoring, and injury prevention in elite female athletes. Her most recent research focuses on faculty development, including mentoring and leadership.

Dr. Ransdell is currently working on an integrative literature review to examine the barriers and facilitators to mentoring in health-related research in new and early stage investigators and underrepresented minority faculty.
