Carolyn received her JD in 2015 from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. Her interests are in health policy research. She has worked on projects investigating screening and interventions for harmful and hazardous alcohol use delivered in emergency departments and trauma centers, distinguishing the neural correlates of criminal psychopathy and substance abuse disorders, and benefits of physical activity on mental illness. She has also worked within the juvenile justice system with dependent and delinquent youth and evaluated minors’ fitness to return to family homes after incarceration.

Carolyn is currently working on health and healthcare utilization characteristics, behavioral health, infectious disease, and chronic illness in jail populations with a focus on recidivists.
