Independent Research Project
Submit a proposal with a topic to be researched at the USHMM. The topic can be part of a larger project that the applicant is pursuing. After the USHMM stay, the recipient is required to submit a two-page report about the project’s progress (due early September 2024). MSI will assist the recipient with finding possibilities for a public presentation in the fall of 2024. The applicant will work with the extensive archives (which can include the photo archive) at the USHMM as well as with their library holdings. Applicants should also consider working with the digital ITS archives (International Tracing Services); assistance on how to use ITS can be provided by USHMM staff
We encourage students who are considering to apply to reach out to MSI director Björn Krondorfer prior to submitting the application.
