Summer short term study abroad programs
The Department of Comparative Cultural Studies offers a number of short-term study abroad opportunities during select summers. Programs in Italy alternate each summer between Art and Life in Tuscany with Professor of Art History Dr. Alexandra Carpino (Summer 2023) and Tuscany: Nature, Culture, and Sustainability with Professor of Humanities Dr. Gioia Woods (Summer 2024). Dr. Paul Donnelly, Professor of the Comparative Study of Religions, takes students to the province of Himachal Pradash in India to experience Hindu and Buddhist cultures. The group visits Buddhist monasteries high in the Himalayas and takes a short trek through the mountains to learn how local villagers live and worship.
