Elevate your degree through global learning

Immerse yourself in another culture

Studying abroad is an adventure you will always remember! You can accelerate or enhance your CCS major or minor through our affordable programs. You can choose to complete an internships, exchanges, NAU-Led programs, and other kinds of opportunities through the Center for International Education at NAU. The Center for International Education conducts information sessions on current CIE programs throughout the semester. See their NAU Education Abroad page for information on the next session and their Education Abroad 101 guide for details on applying and financial information.

The Department of Comparative Cultural Studies offers a number of short-term study abroad opportunities during select summers. Programs in Italy alternate each summer between Art and Life in Tuscany with Professor of Art History Dr. Alexandra Carpino (Summer 2025) and Tuscany: Nature, Culture, and Sustainability with Professor of Humanities Dr. Gioia Woods (Summer 2024).  Dr. Paul Donnelly, Professor of the Comparative Study of Religions, takes students to the province of Himachal Pradash in India to experience Hindu and Buddhist cultures.  The group visits Buddhist monasteries high in the Himalayas and takes a short trek through the mountains to learn how local villagers live and worship.
