When to use a post page type

A post is a feature within WordPress that is designed for publishing blog posts, event details, etc. These are different from pages in that posts are typically used for more timely content that updated regularly, whereas pages are used for static content that changes very little.

  • These are generally blog or informational updates about a certain topic or talking point.
  • Posts are listed in reverse chronological order and can be tagged, categorized, and even archived on your site.
  • Blog posts are dynamic and constantly updating the content your end users see.
  • Posts display the author name, tags, and categories.
